Heartworm Testing, Prevention, And Treatment Vet Philadelphia
A dog may live for months or even years infested with Heartworms, but without treatment, they are always fatal. Additionally, if the dog does receive treatment, the damage already done at the time of the treatment will remain. The quality and quantity of life after treatment depends upon the number of worms present and the damage they have already caused at the time of treatment. If the number of heartworms is few, and the damage they have caused is minor, then a dog can live for a normal lifespan and will be less impacted by treatment. On the other hand, dogs with more extensive pre-treatment damage may need medication for the rest of their lives.

What Should I Feed My Pet Vet Philadelphia
One of the most common questions of any pet owner is, “What Should I Feed My Pet?” This question, although important, can have surprising and complex answers. Nutrition is a key component of health, and nutritional requirements may vary with a pet’s species, age, health conditions, and reproductive status. Currently, there are thought to be at least 44 nutritional parameters for cats and 37 nutritional parameters for dogs. How the food is packaged, stored, handled and fed can also influence health.

Tail Injuries In Dogs Veterinary Hospital Philadelphia
Sometimes when a dog repeatedly wags their tail against a hard substance like a wall or a crate, a wound can form on the very end of the tail. The condition occurs from repetitive trauma to the tip of the tail. You know how your Dog’s Tail wags uncontrollably when you come home from work or you ask them if they would like to go to the P-A-R-K. While this expression of joy and happiness is a sign that your pet is happy, it can also lead to a difficult and painful condition called “Happy Tail”. “Limber Tail” is a term used to describe a different condition in dogs. Limber Tail occurs after vigorous or strenuous exercise, often associated with swimming.
